We Were Featured on El Paso Public Forum!
iHeart Radio El Paso • March 29, 2026 • 30 min
Lorraine Reyes, Executive Director, and Ivan Reyes, Secretary & Member of the Board of Directors, sat down with host Amber Banda on iHeart Radio's El Paso Public Forum to share the heart behind The Evelyn Solis Foundation — our mission, our events, and how the community can get involved.
Our Story
The foundation was named in honor of Lorraine's late mother, Evelyn Solis, who instilled the importance of giving back. Her legacy of love, faith, and service lives on through every event we host.
What We Do
From zoo outings and birthday celebrations to book clubs and self-care nights, we create meaningful experiences for women and children in El Paso shelters — 2 to 3 events every month.
Coming Up
A special Mother's Day fundraiser at Kendra Scott is coming in May! 20% of proceeds benefit the foundation. Shop in person or online with our code.
Our recent Day at the Zoo event was a resounding success, bringing unforgettable joy and smiles to the children of Reynolds Home. From playful monkeys to majestic lions, every moment was filled with wonder and excitement.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who bought a raffle ticket and contributed to making this magical day possible. Your generosity created cherished memories and a much-needed escape for these incredible kids.

This Mother's Day, Let's Celebrate Together
This May, The Evelyn Solis Foundation is working to create unforgettable experiences for mothers residing in our local shelters. We need YOUR help to make it happen!
What We're Looking For
Food, music, arts, beauty, entertainment, wellness, and volunteers to help make this Mother's Day celebration truly special.
How to Get Involved
Whether you want to donate, perform, volunteer your skills, or sponsor part of the event, every contribution makes a difference.
Contact Us
Reach out to Lorraine Reyes at (915) 329-5731 to be a part of our Mother's Day celebration.
Your financial gifts directly support our programs, from art supplies to birthday celebrations. Every dollar makes a difference in bringing joy and healing to families in transition.
Share your time and talents! We need help with event planning, activity leaders, transportation, and more. Even a few hours monthly creates meaningful connections.
Businesses can sponsor events, donate in-kind gifts like yoga mats or art kits, or organize employee volunteer days. Your company can be a catalyst for community change.
Beyond basic support, we believe in the transformative power of carefully curated experiences to restore joy, dignity, and a deep sense of belonging for women and children in shelters.
Curated with Purpose
From engaging craft events to uplifting holiday celebrations, each experience is intentionally designed to foster connection, comfort, and emotional well-being.
Moments of Dignity
We create opportunities for women and children to feel seen, valued, and supported, providing access to special moments they might otherwise miss.
Memories that Matter
Birthday parties, family outings, and wellness workshops are more than activities—they are heartfelt opportunities to create cherished memories and renewed hope.
Meet Our Partner Shelters
We work closely with local shelters to identify needs and provide targeted support. Each shelter serves unique populations, but all share a commitment to creating safe spaces for women and children to heal and grow.
Reynolds Home
A transitional living center for women and children experiencing homelessness. We host monthly birthday celebrations, holiday events, and regular wellness workshops with the residents.
Villa Maria
Provides emergency shelter and support services. Our book clubs and art therapy sessions here help residents process trauma and build community connections during difficult transitions.
La Posada
Serves families seeking asylum and refugees. Our Christmas of Hope program ensures every child and mother receives personalized gifts and experiences holiday joy regardless of circumstances.
La Casa de Abuelitas
A beloved shelter for our elderly and frail community members. We celebrated Valentine's Day here with handmade cards, teddy bears, and sweet treats — and we're committed to continuing our visits to bring joy, companionship, and love to the residents throughout the year.
